01 · ABOUT ME

Hello

I'm Carolina Torres, Product Designer with 7+ years of experience transforming complex product ecosystems into scalable systems through strategic design.

My work sits at the intersection of user needs, business strategy, and technical feasibility. I specialize in creating frameworks, processes, and design structures that enable teams to scale sustainably while maintaining clarity and consistency.

Currently focused on design leadership, mentorship, and building scalable systems that support long-term product growth.

ORIGIN

I came to product design through industrial design, where every decision had to survive contact with manufacturing, material, and real human hands. That background shaped how I think: starting from constraints, not from screens.

NOW

Today my work sits at the intersection of research, strategy, and systems thinking. I design the structures that let products, and the teams behind them, scale with clarity.

My Designer Mindset

02 · MY PROCESS

I help teams transform complexity into structure by aligning user needs, business priorities, and technical realities through strategic design.

I lead design across the full lifecycle, from early exploration to scalable delivery, ensuring every decision supports long-term clarity, coherence, and growth.

Design is not the creation of interfaces. It is the discipline that aligns people, systems, and decisions. Design is alignment.

My Design Manifesto

The core values that shape my design process

01.

Design is a decision-making discipline

Every design choice is an argument about what matters. The job is not to make things look good, it is to make the right things visible, the right paths easy, and the right decisions inevitable.

02.

Systems scale, heroics do not

Sustainable design work is built on structures, not individual effort. A design system that other teams can own, extend, and trust is worth more than any single perfect screen.

03.

Form follows function. Empathy precedes form

Aesthetics matter but they are intrinsically linked to function, not independent of it. A beautiful solution that does not serve the person using it is not a design solution. It is decoration.

04.

Research is not a phase. It is a posture

Observation does not end when the interviews do. The best designers stay curious long after the research report is filed; noticing, questioning, and updating their understanding as products and people evolve.

05.

Design is a team sport

The best outcomes come from aligned teams, not lone designers. Stakeholder trust, cross-functional communication, and shared language are design problems too, and they deserve the same rigor as any interface decision.

06.

Purposeful, useful & valuable

These are the three standards against which every design decision should be measured. If a feature, a screen, or a system does not serve all three, it deserves to be questioned regardless of how much effort went into it.
